Lung cancer cases decline in Europe
Doctors said that the reduction in smoking rates in Europe and improved screening led to fewer people dying of cancer, but deaths from lung cancer among women are increasing in areas such as Scotland and Hungary, where the number of smokers increase.
According to a study in the journal "Annals of Oncology cancer Annals of Oncology cancer" that early diagnosis and improved treatment led to reduction of the number of deaths from cervical cancer and breast cancer. Also the decline in smoking rates resulted in significant decline in deaths from lung cancer and other cancers related to tobacco.
