U.S stocks enter a green zone within the closing session….

The U.S stocks managed to enter a green zone within the closing session on speculation that the economy up till now is on the right track to recovery and as a result of overall and as a result of overall cheerful and better-than expected earnings posted so far from huge U.S corporations, companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Intel Corporation and others, which pushed benchmark indexes to a one-year high, while that the green Benjamin that the dollar approached a 14-month low to drive commodity prices higher and accordingly energy shares posted gains in today's session

 

 

Indices performance came as follows:

 

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index gained 96.28 points or 0.96% to close at 10092.19 levels, the index reached the highest point at 10117.96 and the lowest point at 9995.15, By closing 25 shares inclined while 5 shares declined.

 

The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the stocks adding the most points to the index were Caterpillar Inc stock as it inclined $3.34 or 6.12% to add 25.24 points and close at $57.91, then came IBM share as it inclined $1.42 or 1.17% adding to the index 10.73 points and close at $123.06, finally the Chevron Corp share inclined $0.85 or 1.11% providing the index with 6.42 points as it closed at $77.66.

 

On the contrary the index shed points due to General Electric Co share as it declined $0.24 or 1.49% to cut 1.81 points from the index as it closed at $15.84, then came Coca-Cola Co as it dropped $0.22 or 0.40% costing the index 1.66 points and closing at $54.79, finally the Microsoft Corp share declined $0.14 or 0.53% subtracting 1.06 points from the index and closing at $26.36.

 

 

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index added 10.23 points or 0.94% to close at 1097.91 levels, the index reached the highest point at 1100.17 and the lowest point at 1086.48, By closing 426 shares inclined while 71 shares declined and 3 shares remained unchanged.

 

The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the stocks adding the most points to the index were IMS Health Inc stock as it inclined $3.17 or 21.61% and close at $17.84, then came Gannett Co Inc share as it inclined $1.06 or 8.15% and close at $14.06, finally the Motorola Inc share inclined $0.62 or 7.90% as it closed at $8.47.

 

On the contrary the index shed points due to American International Group share as it declined $2.03 or 4.70% as it closed at $41.17, then came BB&T Corp as it dropped $1.22 or 4.32% and closing at $27.03, finally the Hasbro Inc share declined $1.10 or 3.73% subtracting and closing at $28.42.

 

 

The NASDAQ Composite Index inclined 19.52 points or 0.91% to close at 2176.32 levels, the index reached the highest point at 2180.11 and the lowest point at 2150.42, By closing 1642 shares inclined while 902 shares declined and 259 shares remained unchanged.

 

The index added and slashed points based on the performance of the upcoming stocks; the stocks adding the most points to the index were Oracle Corp stock as it inclined $0.61 or 2.80% to add 2.02 points and close at $22.42, then came Apple Inc share as it inclined $1.81 or 0.96% adding to the index 1.07 points and close at $189.86, finally the Cisco Systems share inclined $0.23 or 0.96% providing the index with 0.88 points as it closed at $24.25.

 

On the contrary the index shed points due to Microsoft Corp share as it declined $0.14 or 0.53% to cut 0.82 points from the index as it closed at $26.36, then came Amgen Inc as it dropped $1.08 or 1.76% costing the index 0.72 points and closing at $60.24, finally the Amazon.com Inc share declined $0.64 or 0.67% subtracting 0.18 points from the index and closing at $94.68.

 

 

As for the New York Stock Exchange the most active stocks throughout today were; Citigroup Inc Share as it declined $0.05 to close at $4.54. The second active stock was Bank of America Corp. Share as it declined $0.10 to close at $17.16. Finally The Fannie Mae Share shed $0.32 to close at $1.14.
